His Hug is Like Being in the Arms of Divinity

One devotee came to me and asked if I knew any pure devotee. I said with Srila Tirtha Maharaj, you cannot go wrong. Dandavat pranams. Please bless us to become a worthy servant of our siksa Guru.

The grace of his divine grace cannot be imagined. Arriving in Mayapur, I met him as he came out from the samadhi of Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhava Maharaj.

Seeing him gave my heart a jolt of home-feeling. But then he recognized my presence and came over to me to give me a hug. I felt in the arms of divinity itself. No proper words can describe it —a  hug from above for a fallen soul. I could only feel that tears were pressing on my eyes. We remember many moments like this where we felt his deep love and concern for all.

Srila Tirtha Maharaj is a leader in his own style—one- pointed devotion to dedicated service for the one and only Lord of love and his surrendered servitor. I also remember his eloquence and style to pronounce the prayers and to give pranams after the kirtan.

He is unique. Love and care are his trade mark. Once I met Krishna Murti Prabhu from Venezuela with a large group of devotees in Mayapur who came to take shelter of his divine grace. What a joy! Now Guru Maharaj had entered South America.

My love and respect to all his disciples and god-brothers. I bow at their feet. Gurudeva's pastimes to be with us these days are deeply touching. He is giving us freedom while watching us from within.

Special dandavat pranams to all those souls who are with Gurudeva and help him in all personal services. Please bless us to become worthy servants of you, our beloved siksa Guru.

Remembering His Entrance Into Nitya Lila

Srila Gurudev was always intoxicated in Krishna-nama-sankirtan, whether or not externally conscious. He was lying on the bed and was seemingly unaware as he was not communicating with any one of us externally, but inwardly he was relishing Krishna-namasankirtan offered by the devotees and also inspired devotees from within to come and join sankirtan movement.

Those who performed the sankirtans those last days on earth are the true servants of Srila Gurudev. Even though the sevaks were attending to the immediate medical services of Srila Gurudev, one would think that the best service was done by those who performed kirtans. Of this, there is no doubt.
Srila Gurudev could have concluded his pastimes much before but he chose this way to make us realize that the process of Krishna-nama-sankirtan is the only way by which everyone could stay united for a single purpose. Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur had mentioned in his antim-vani (final instructions) to offer …

His Prayers on a Train Attacked By Dacoits

It is very clear by observing Guru Maharaj's activities that he has a great longing for helping to  deliver the lost souls. Not just this, but also taking care of all responsibilities of the math, his careful and timely replies to all the devotee's letters, and writing articles for the Bangla Monthly magazine Sri Chaitanya Vani. Aside from that, his preaching programs took on high levels of sacrifice—in Punjab and other places, he was speaking Harikatha up to seven times in a day! What can all this be other than tolerance of his which is one of its kind.

Srila Guru Maharaj had taken me along with his preaching party to Assam and we were returning by Kamarupa Express to Kolkata. While nearing Bangla-Assam border, I heard from Sri Ananta Prabhu an instance of the previous year and was astonished. He said that this Assam-Bangla border is a deserted area and is very dangerous.

He added that if a train does not arrive at its scheduled time, dacoits enter in the trains and rob the…

He Bestows the Blessings of Lord Narasinghadev

Around 2012 when Kartik month was being celebrated in Mayapur, I was attending the festival with my whole family by the mercy of Gurudev. My son Krishna’s tithi birthday was there on the appearance day of Srila Bhakti Srirupa Siddhanti Maharaj. The day before his birthday, I asked one of the sevaks of Gurudev whether he could get darshan of Gurudev on his birthday. The sevaks agreed.

That same evening when I was sitting with my kids in the temple hall and listening to Harikatha, one stranger came and sat with my son. That man had some toys and he was talking with my son. I did not know him and felt that he was not really staying in the math for any good reason.

When we were moving for prasadam, I asked my son, "Why were you talking with that man?"

He replied to me, "Mother, that man was telling me take these toys in to your room and bring all the money from your bags. I will give you some more toys and if you will not bring anything, then tomorrow I will take you from …
