Sri Guru Varga Proclaims Him as a Personal Associate of the Lord

On one occasion we were performing Vraj-mandal parikrama with our Guru Maharaj. When the parikrama reached Brahmanda Ghat, Guru Maharaj declared that Krishna Ballabh* is the future acharya. This is at the time when Maharaj had not even got sannyas.

Also during his manifest pastimes, Guru Maharaj had given a letter to Pujyapad Jagamohan Prabhu wherein he had written that after his departure Tirtha Maharaj will be the acharya. I see Guru Maharaj’s full grace is upon Maharaj. From beginning to date I have observed from his conduct that he has never anytime criticized anybody before others. His life is always so pure, without a blemish.

A long time ago someone in Assam asked Guru Maharaj that at present preaching is going on well, but in the future what will happen to the math? I personally heard Guru Maharaj's reply that there is no cause for worry; after him, the preaching will be more widespread.

Today it can be seen that Guruji’s desire is being fulfilled. The way in which the preaching of suddha bhakti-vani of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is taking place now through Maharaj, no one other than Lord’s personal associate, Lord’s non-different manifestation, can accomplish.

His Lessons in Identifying an Imitation Sadhu

Once during Harikatha, Srila Gurudev narrated his own experience from a long time ago.  H e was in Agra with the prachar party. He explained that sometimes they did kirtan in a park near Taj Mahal. Usually when in Agra, Guru Maharaj and the devotees were welcomed by Matura Prasad Agrawal. He was a wealthy gentleman who owned oil mills. He had a lot of faith in Guru Maharaj and extended an open invitation to visit his house for Harikatha and kirtan anytime.   On this particular occasion, Guru Maharaj went to Agra without informing Matura Prasad. When he reached his home, he saw four babajis doing kirtan. Without making his presence known, he left. His Strength in Humility

Guru Mahārāja [Śrīla Bhakti Dayita Mādhava Gosvāmī Mahārāja] did not leave us with his intentions written only in his heart. Already during his manifest pastimes, even two years before his disappearance, he declared and broadcast everywhere:  “If I die, or if for some reason any other difficulty occurs, Bhakti Ballabha Tirtha Mahārāja shall sit in my position. I am seating him as my successor. No one can have any objection to this.” As Guru Mahārāja is antaryāmī (inward-knower), having received Prabhupāda's mercy, he also foresaw that in his absence, Śrīla Tirtha Mahārāja would have no difficulty running the maṭha. For this reason, Guru Mahārāja declared Śrīla Tirtha Mahārāja as the next Ācārya before his own departure.
