His Prayers to Śrī Narasiṁhadeva Divert Dacoits From Robbing a Train

It is very clear by observing Guru Mahārāj's activities that he has a great longing to help deliver lost souls. He demonstrates this in all his actions including his responsibilities related to the management of the maṭha, his careful and timely replies to all the devotee's letters, and writing articles for the Bangla Monthly magazine Śrī Caitanya Vani. In addition to that, he accepted great austerities while preaching in Punjab and other places where he was speaking hari-kathā up to seven times a day. We cannot see this kind of tolerance and dedication elsewhere, in anyone else.
Once Śrīla Guru Mahārāj took his pracāra party to Assam and we were returning by Kamarupa Express to Kolkata. While nearing the Bangla-Assam border, I listened astonishingly to Śrī Ananta Prabhu narrate an instance from the previous year. He said that this Assam-Bangla border is very dangerous; a deserted area where if a train does not arrive at the scheduled time, dacoits come inside the trains and rob the passengers.
Although this year our train was reaching this place on time, last year the train had been delayed by two hours and dacoits surrounded the train. He continued to describe the incident saying, "There were only a few police officers inside the train; they warned us to tightly shut all the windows and the doors of the train."
Prabhujī told us that they all felt afraid. When he tried to peep through the window, he saw the leader of the dacoits was telling passengers to hand over their baggage to them or else they will forcibly loot the whole train. Inside the train, there was a strict warning from the police not to open the window or the door; otherwise, it would be very difficult.
He recounted that in the midst of their fear, they looked to Guru Mahārāj at that moment and observed that he was remembering Śrī Narasiṁhadeva and instructed them to also do so.
While doing prayers, they saw that some people have attacked the dacoits from behind and had started beating them. Probably some nearby villagers got the news and to save the people on the train, they attacked them from behind. After some time, they saw the dacoits fleeing, then the police instructed the train to move.
Śrī Ananta Prabhu told us that because of Śrīla Guru Mahārāj’s remembrance of Śrī Narasiṁhadeva, we were saved from dacoits, otherwise many lives might have been lost.
