Worshipable Forbearance

After the disappearance of Most Revered Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj, Tirtha Maharaj had tolerated immense sufferings. Ignoring so many favorable and unfavorable circumstances, he kept on serving his Gurudeva. He is one of the bright stars of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math.

Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj is a shining example of how one should serve guru, how one should dedicate oneself in the services of math, and how one should serve Guru, Vaishnava, and Bhagavan amidst all difficulties, adversities, reproaches, and insults of the world.
The tolerance he has exhibited is extremely rare
to be seen in human beings.

After disappearance of my Gurudev, I often would go to the math of my sannyas guru Nityalila pravistha Om Vishnupad Sri Srimad Bhakti Kumud Sant Goswsami Maharaj. I have seen many times the way in which he offers his obeisances to Srila Santa Goswami Maharaj. He would sit on the floor in front of him and never on an elevated seat. We still haven’t learnt those high standards of his giving respect to the senior devotees.

I would like to pray at his lotus feet that may he bless us with his uncommon qualities like extreme tolerance, exclusion one-pointed dedication to serve Gurudev, and devotional tactfulness to preserve the mission.

Remembering His Entrance Into Nitya Lila

Srila Gurudev was always intoxicated in Krishna-nama-sankirtan, whether or not externally conscious. He was lying on the bed and was seemingly unaware as he was not communicating with any one of us externally, but inwardly he was relishing Krishna-namasankirtan offered by the devotees and also inspired devotees from within to come and join sankirtan movement.

Those who performed the sankirtans those last days on earth are the true servants of Srila Gurudev. Even though the sevaks were attending to the immediate medical services of Srila Gurudev, one would think that the best service was done by those who performed kirtans. Of this, there is no doubt.
Srila Gurudev could have concluded his pastimes much before but he chose this way to make us realize that the process of Krishna-nama-sankirtan is the only way by which everyone could stay united for a single purpose. Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur had mentioned in his antim-vani (final instructions) to offer …

He Takes All Blame Upon Himself

After exchanging letters for several times, my beloved spiritual master, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, has given me the instruction to preach in Singapore. Since then, for decades, one question was burning in my heart: How can I preach nicely? What should be our motivation when we preach? What is real preaching?

When I was going to meet Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaj in Punjab, asking him this question was all that I had in mind. In the Math, devotees were discussing the latest events. The main sevak of Srila Maharaj had left his service, and some devotees were commenting on how that was good because he had done some wrong things.

When I entered his bhajan kutir, another devotee was asking Srila Gurudev why that sevak had left. He replied with genuine humility: "It is not his fault. I have done some wrong, that's why he left."

At that very moment, my question evaporated, before I could even ask. It was answered by this one act of Srila Gurudeva's per…

No Fear When Following in the Steps of His Gurudeva

Most Revered Srila Gurudev, by His causeless mercy, encouraged me and my wife Bosudha Dasi to travel with Him to different places in India on his preaching tour at the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011. After touring North India and Assam we came to Kolkata in Dec. 2010.

In the beginning of January 2011 there was an ongoing discussion among Srila Gurudeva's sevak team whether Srila Gurudev would be going to Chakdaha Jagannath temple for the annual festival or not as it was very cold there at that time. I was also afraid to go because I had just recovered from  illness.
One day, after Srila Gurudev's Tulsi parikrama, He was going towards His bhajan kutir and looking at my wife He asked her: "We will go to Chakdaha?" My wife responded that it depends on You (Gurudev).
Gurudev smiled and then pointing at me He said: "Everything depends on him (me). We will go?" I replied that I heard it is cold but that it depends on You (Gurudev).
Then Gurudev smiled and said:…
